We're excited to announce the launch of our new training program for OSP field technicians!
Our OSP Field Bootcamp is an in-person, intensive, three-day training program in Dillsburg, PA. Built to serve our internal engineering team, we're thrilled to offer this service to external clients, especially those with employees brand new to the industry who are looking to hit the ground running!
How OSP Field Bootcamp works:
Application Form - our team will review the intake forms to make sure incoming field technicians are a good fit for the length and nature of the intensive bootcamp.
Pre-requisites - to optimize the value of in-person training time, our team will provide digital training resources to prepare technicians in three categories: Safety, Overhead Basics, and Katapult Pro Software. A simple pre-test will be administered before travel to Dillsburg.
Field Bootcamp - three-day intensive focused on in-depth data collection training. Day one includes brief review of basics, and day three includes a final evaluation of safety, quality, and speed in two-person teams.
Continuing Education - Virtual meetings will be scheduled for the weeks following bootcamp to provide job review and feedback, as well as to ensure teams are capable of hitting 18+ poles per hour.
Is this the right program for you?
The OSP Field Bootcamp was designed as a way to turbocharge new hires to hit the ground running for our internal Engineering Services team. This means the curriculum is most beneficial to your new staff or technician teams hitting fewer than 6 poles per hour in the field.
The OSP Field Bootcamp is designed to prepare teams for safe, high-quality, efficient data collection of utility poles for make ready and pole loading analysis. This curriculum will also cover information necessary for distribution audits and distribution maintenance/upgrades. We do not currently cover training on drilling for pole inspections, storm damage assessments, or vegetation management.
You'll have to evaluate your current run rates, your need to scale, and the opportunity/actual costs of travel to Pennsylvania for your field technicians to make a final determination on whether the program is a good fit.
Teams with technicians who graduate from this program are automatically qualified for our vendor list, which we use to connect Katapult Pro vendors with engineering services opportunities across the country.
